Entrance Hall

The magnificent hallway leads to the drawing room, the dining room, the music room, as well as the large downstairs washroom.

The Music Room

The Music Room benefits from the same spectacular views, and provides further space for quiet relaxation, socialising or listening to music.  For a number of years the room has been used as a venue for concerts of chamber music, comfortably seating 40 guests.  The Music Room has a Steinway grand piano and high-end stereo system, complete with CD player and iPod lead.

The Drawing Room

The Drawing Room has an open fireplace and exceptional views to the south and west through mullioned windows. The views out over the moors on one side and down over Hardcastle Crags on the other. There is nowhere better to enjoy a welcome cup of Earl Grey after a brisk walk in the country air.  The log fire is perfect on colder days and creates a really cosy feeling.

This classic English country house drawing room provides the ideal setting for a welcome cup of Earl Grey tea after a bracing country walk, enjoying a glass of champagne and canapés before dinner or for reading the papers on a Sunday morning.

The Dining Room

The Dining Room is at the centre of the property and has a splay bay window with a southerly aspect and built in storage cupboards with drawers and a dresser.

The south-facing dining room, also with wonderful views over the valley, provides the perfect setting for a relaxing breakfast, a hearty lunch or a candle-lit, butler served dinner.   This space can also be used as a boardroom for business meetings.

The main table can accommodate up to 20 in comfort.

The TV / Entertainment Room

The ground floor also boasts an entertainment room with a large, flat screen television.

There is a DVD player complete with DVD library including Wuthering Heights and Nicholas Nickleby which was filmed at Gibson Mill and on the moors just past Walshaw Lodge. Additionally there is a Playstation 2 complete with muti-tap adapter, 4 controllers and a comprehensive games library.

Table Tennis Room

Somewhat as the name might suggest, this room is amply kitted out with a table tennis table and all the bats and balls you need to keep the competition going for hours!

There is also a dart board for those people looking for a slightly less strenuous activity to enjoy.

Children’s Play Room

Walshaw Lodge has a children’s play room complete with bouncy castle, toys, games, books as well as high chairs and other equipment for small children.

N.B. it is important to note that we offer the equipment such as the bouncy castle for use as is and accept no liability for accidental damage. It is essential that children are supervised at all times.
