Q. Can we have fireworks?

A. Fireworks are allowed on Bonfire Night and New Years Eve, which are the only permitted nights under the Fireworks Act.

Q. Is the house permanently staffed?

A. Our staff live locally and attend the house on a daily basis, as a minimum to clean the house and to turn down the beds for that homely touch.

Q. Can I smoke in the building?

A. Walshaw Lodge is a no smoking building, except for in the Drawing Room provided windows are opened.

Q. Will my guests need to bring towels?

A. Each guest will be provided with a hand and bath towel.

Q. What is provided by Walshaw Lodge?

A. All bed linen and towels are provided. There will be enough crockery and cutlery for the maximum occupancy for the house, and basics such as tea-towels and washing up liquid is provided.

Q. Are logs available for the fireplace in the Drawing Room?

A. Logs are provided and there is an additional supply in the Games Room.

Q. Do you have recycling facilities?

A. Yes, we provide recycling bins and encourage them to be used. There are also several recycling facilities in Hebden Bridge which can be used.

Q. What do we do in case of an emergency?

A. The house has a fully fitted fire alarm system, it is your responsibility to make your guests aware of the locations of the emergency exits and fire extinguishers in the house. All emergency numbers will be in your house instruction manual located in the drawing room.
